Lauren Schatz

Hello,

a bit about me:

Hello, welcome to my website. My name is Lauren Schatz, a senior physics student at University of California Santa Cruz. My research interests are primarily in the field of astronomy instrumentation. Throughout my undergraduate career, I have dedicated my time  researching adaptive optics at the Center for Adaptive Optics at UCSC. Currently, I am helping to characterize the performance of the new ShaneAO system, an adaptive optics system for the Shane 3-Meter Telescope at Lick Observatory. I seek to do this imaging open and gloubular star clustes. I will then measue the Strehl ratio of stars, as a function of distance from the guide star (both LGS and NGS).
